Questions about registration

How do I register?
Click on "Register" on the home page or "Athlete Registration" on the left navigation and complete the form. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email receipt. Important note: This does not constitute your registration for the event itself. Go to the event website for more information.

How much does it cost to register for Athletes for a Cure?
Nothing! There is no fee to set up a webpage. (Each event will have its own fee for participation. Check with each event organizer for more information.)

Are there fundraising minimums?
There are no fundraising requirements to participate in Athletes for a Cure, although the Prostate Cancer Foundation is supported 100% by private contributions, which means that we need financial support from people like you if we are going to achieve our mission: to develop better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

Is my information secure?
Yes. Kintera (our Web host) has made every effort to protect your information, using industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords and personal information travel securely over the Internet. Kintera has also installed an encryption engine on our database server so that your data is securely stored.

Questions about your account and your webpage

I'm having technical problems setting up my webpage. How can I get help?
Please email webmaster@athletesforacure.org. The webmaster will follow up with you as soon as possible.

I need to make a change to my webpage (update copy, modify an offline contribution, change the design). How do I do this?
You have the ability to make all these changes from your headquarters (HQ). On the left navigation, click on "Main Login" to be taken to your HQ.

My name is not showing up in the Athletes for a Cure search. What should I do?
After registering, it takes up to 72 hours for athlete names to be added to the search function. If your name is not showing after this time, be sure that you have entered all of your information properly when you registered. If you have not completed all of the required fields, your name may not show up in the search. If this has been done and you still don't come up in searches, send an email to webmaster@athletesforacure.org. The webmaster will follow up with you as soon as possible.

What is the long website address for that I received in my confirmation receipt?
This website address will take you to your personal webpage. This address link is automatically included in any emails that are sent through the email center in your Headquarters after you have logged into the website. You can also copy and paste this link into any other form of email.

I forgot my Username and Password. How can I retrieve them?
Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. Go to your event website and click on "Main Login" and then click on "Forgot Username and/or Password". You will receive an email with your username and password. If you still have problems, please email webmaster@athletesforacure.org . The webmaster will follow up with you as soon as possible.

How can I see who has donated on my webpage?
Login in to your HQ. You can then view your donor list and the amounts that have been donated. If you like, you can use one of the email templates provided to send a thank you email. (All donors receive an email confirmation from the Prostate Cancer Foundation after donating.)

Can I import my address book?
Yes.  Please refer to this guide for instructions.
